Amit Kapoor is an Honorary Chairman at the Institute for Competitiveness, President and CEO of India Council on Competitiveness; India, and Editor-in-Chief of ‘Thinkers’. Amit is the chair for the ‘Social Progress Imperative and Shared Value Initiative’ in India. He is in the board of Competitiveness initiatives in Mexico, Netherlands, Italy & France, and the Advisory Board of the University of Vermont’s SEMBA. He is an affiliate faculty for the Microeconomics of Competitiveness of Institute of Strategy and Competitiveness, Harvard Business School, and an instructor with Harvard Business Publishing in the area of Strategy, Competitiveness, and Business Models.

‘Riding the Tiger’ and ‘The Age of Awakening: The Story of the Indian Economy since Independence’ were bestsellers which Amit and Wilfried Aulber co-authored. “India’s Competitiveness” book was released in 2019 which co-authored with Bibek Debroy. He contributes as a columnist and a writer to Indo-Asian News Service (IANS), Economic Times, Hindu, Business Insider, Hindu Business Line, Financial Express, Outlook Business, Governance Now, etc.

He is the recipient of the ‘Ruth Greene Memorial Award’ winner for writing the best case of the year, by the North American Case Research Association (NACRA). Also, he has received the ‘State Competitiveness Award, ‘City Competitiveness Award’ and ‘Institute for Competitiveness Strategy Award’.
